Leonard Paul was b. c. 1816 in NC. He married Nancy Tharp who was b. c. 1824 in GA. I find Leonard in the 1850 Pike Co., AL census on page 264:

I believe that William is Leonard's brother and Sarah is Sarah Tharp who married William Paul and sister of Leonard's wife Nancy.
I next find Leonard in the 1860 Grimes Co., TX cenus on page 244:

Sarah C. Elizabeth Paul married on 11 June 1865 in Nacogdoches Co., TX William S. H. Harrison. Sarah was b. c. 1845 in AL. I searched all Paul's in the TX and AL census for 1850 and 1860 and the family of Leonard Paul is the only one she seems to fit into at age 5 in 1850 and 14 in 1860. In these censuses though she is named as Cynthy and Cynthia. Since I find Sarah's name on her marriage as Sarah C. Elizabeth Paul I am thinking her second name may be Cynthia and that she is the daughter of Leonard Paul.
Is Leonard Paul the son of Isham and Mourning Paul of Coffee Co., AL? Isham is found on page 400 of the Pike Co., AL census age 40-50 with 2 males 5-10, 2 females under 5, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 15-20, 1 female 20-30 and 1 female 40-50.
