This indenture made and entered into this the twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty between Jacob CHASTAIN of the one part William SUTHERLAND and James KEITH of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and twenty five Dollars to me in hand paid by said SUTHERLAND and KEITH the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hat granted bargained sold and released and conveyed unto the said SUTHERLAND & KEITH all my claim and interest in two tracts of land the one tract containing Two hundred and Seventy Acres Originally Granted to George HUTSON the second day of April seventeen hundred and ninety eight situated lying and being in Originally Pendleton District now Pickens District on Waters of Woolenoy Creek waters of Saluda River bounded by lines running SE and NE by said George HUTSON land all other sides by vacant land The other tract containing one hundred and forty eight acres situated lying and being in Originally the District of ninety Six now Pickens District on Canock Creek waters of Woolenoy Creek waters of Saluda River commencing on a Stake NE 63:50 Thence to post oak thence W 12:10 N 50 to red oak thence to a post oak S 8:10 W 19 to a red oak S 72 E 65 Spanish oak S 13 East post oak E60 to stake S W 10:14 to a pine S43 E35 to a post oak thence to the beginning Stake To have and to hold all and singular the wrights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining thereunto their heirs and assigns in fee Simple And the said Jacob CHASTAIN will warrant and forever defend the wrights titles members and appurtenances to the said SUTHERLAND and KEITH against the wrights titles claim or claims of any and all other persons whomsoever with the exception of so much as has been conveyed to John NEEL by George HUTSON from the HUTSON Survey also so much as has been conveyed by said George HUTSON to Edward CHASTAIN In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and subscribed my seal the day and date above written.

J. B. SUTHERLAND appears personally Before me L. HENDRICKS a acting Magistrate & after being duly sworn as the law is such cases sayeth he saw Jacob CHASTAIN sign seal & deliver the within deeds of Conveyance to the within named Wm. SUTHERLAND & James KEITH for the use & purposes therein mentioned & that L. HENDRICKS was with himself a subscribing witness to the same Sworn to and subscribed before me this 20th day of November 1850.

HENDRICKS one of the Justices of the quorum for the District and State aforesaid do hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that Nancy CHASTAIN the wife of the within named Jacob CHASTAIN did this day appear before me & upon being privately & separately examined by me did declare that she does freely & voluntarily & without any compulsion dread or fear of any person or persons whomsoever renounce & release & forever relinquish unto the within Wm. SUTHERLAND & James KEITH their Heirs and assigns all her interest & Estate & also all her right & claim of Dower of in or to all and singular the premises within mentioned and released (premises) November 20th 1850
