So. You're here cos you wondered how it all started. We'll start at the very beginning. Starting with Lyss's birthday on March 21, 1980, continuing through Sarita's birthday on May 29, 1983, we were born.
We grew up, we went to school. Sarita and Aud became friends when in preschool. Help and Lyss became friends when Help moved to Chicken Broilville in sixth grade. In eighth grade, Help and Lyss met Eeek in TEEM and suddenly something gelled, and a wacky unique brand of insanity was formed in our friendship.
Later came high school, and at a JV football game in 1996, Lyss and Eeek met Aud and Sarita. Help had already known Aud because they did church stuff together, and had met Sarita through Aud. And we all went to this football game and met. We talked a little throughout the rest of the year, but the next year, when Aud and Sarita moved up to high school, it all came together.
Eeek, Help and Lyss had already developed a reputation as ... "psychos" ... and we decided that when we left, we needed someone to carry on our traditions of singing in the halls and general psychosis. Aud and Sarita were perfect. And we all became bestest friends.
Then there were these guys that we had been friends with for awhile, and they had formed a Clan, the Poormen. And we decided, since we were so closely affiliated with the Poormen (some of us more closely than others, Sarita and Eeeks... Love ya PMC & Company!) that we should form our own clan. After thinking and thinking of what on earth we should call ourselves, Sarita was blessed with the brilliant idea--"Chalky Chicks!"
Cept for Erika, who thinks she's a Chalky Chic. (Yes, I do, and I'm proud of it! As Ben and I agreed, so long ago, chick is a baby chicken. I'd rather call someone sophisticated than a baby chicken. Thank you very much! At least Ben agrees with me... the two intelligent individuals on this subject. Pmf! ::giggles::)
