Poem for the Soul

"Castle of Dreams"

a starry midnight sky
looms overhead
a silent field
of perfect silver roses
sway slowly
to the humming of the ocean
the grains of sand
form the foundation
of the grandest
Castle of Dreams
the waves of destiny
sigh as they reach the shore
the tide of fantasy rises
and washs away
the footprints of memories
desire is in the surf,
hope in the wind,
and faith in the voice of the spirts
that reside in
The Castle of Dreams.

****TITANIC QUOTES****

(placed here...dedicated to a very, very, very special person)

"It still gets me every time...to see the sad ruin of the great ship sitting here, where she landed at 2:30 in the morning, April 15, 1912, after her long fall from the world above." -Brock Lovett "You actually believe this is you, grandma?" -Lizzy "It is me, dear, wasn't I a dish?!"-Rose Dawson Calvert "If your grandma is who she says she is, she was wearing the diamond the day TITANIC sank. (to Rose) and that makes you my new best friend!" -Brock Lovett "This was mine. How extraordinary! It looks the same as the last time I saw it....The reflection has changed a bit."-Rose Dawson Calvert "Are you ready to go back to TITANIC?"-Brock Lovett "Thank you for that fine forensic analysis, Mr. Bodine. Of course, the experience was somewhat different."-Rose Dawson Calvert "It's been 84 years...and I can still smell the fresh paint. The china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in." -Rose Dawson Calvert "I don't see what all the fuss is about. It doesn't look any bigger than the Mauretania."-Rose DeWitt Bukater "So this is the ship the say is unsinkable."-Ruth DeWitt Bukater "It is unsinkable! God himself could not sink the ship!"-Caledon Hockley "It was the ship of dreams...to everyone else. To me it was a slave ship, taking me back to America in chains."-Rose Dawson Calvert "Outwardly I was everything a well brought up girl should be. Inside, I was screaming."-Rose Dawson Calvert "Take her to see, Mr. Murdoch. Let's stretch her legs."-Captain E.J. Smith "You have a gift, Jack. You do. You see people."-Rose DeWitt Bukater "I see you."-Jack Dawson "And...?"-Rose DeWitt Bukater "You wouldn'ta jumped."-Jack Dawson "Captain, the press knows about the size of TITANIC, let them marvel at her speed too. We must give them something new to print....of course, I leave it to your good offices to decide what's best, but what a glorious end to your last crossing if we get into New York Tuesday night and surprise them.....Retire with a bang, eh, E.J.?"-J. Bruce Ismay "The others were gracious and curious about the man who'd saved my life. But my mother looked at him like an insect. A dangerous insect who must be squashed quickly."-Rose Dawson Calvert "My, my, my...you shine up like a new penny!"-Molly Brown "Dawson! I didn't recognize you!...Amazing! You could almost pass for a gentlemen."-Caledon Hockley "Yeah, almost."-Jack Dawson "Good to meet you Jack. Are you of the Boston Dawsons?"-J.J. Astor "No, the Chippewa Falls Dawsons, actually."-Jack Dawson "Tell us of the accomodations in steerage, Mr. Dawson. I hear they're quite good on this ship."-Ruth DeWitt Bukater "The best I've seen, m'am. Hardly any rats."-Jack Dawson "And where exactly do you live, Mr. Dawson?"-Ruth DeWitt Bukater "Well, right now my address is the RMS Titanic. After that, I'm on God's good humor."-Jack Dawson "Want to go to a real party?"-Jack Dawson "Do you want to see me working as a seamstress? Is that what you want? Do you want to see our fine things sold at an auction, our memories scattered to the winds?"-Ruht DeWitt Bukater "O hear us when we cry for thee for those in peril on the sea."-Song in Worship Service "Sleep soundly, young Rose. I have built you a good ship, strong and true. She's all the lifeboats you need."-Thomas Andrews "...They've got you trapped Rose, and you're goin' to die if you don't break out. Maybe not right away, 'cause you're strong. But sooner or later the fire in you is goin' to go out."-Jack Dawson "It's not up to you to save me, Jack."-Rose DeWitt Bukater "I'm flying!"-Rose DeWitt Bukater "That was the last time TITANIC ever saw daylight."-Rose Dawson Calvert "I want you to draw me like you French girls. Wearing this. Wearing only this."-Rose DeWitt Bukater "I believe you are blushing, My. Big Artiste. I can't imagine Monsieur Monet blushing."-Rose DeWitt Bukater "He does landscapes."-Jack Dawson "You're trembling."-Rose DeWitt Bukater "It's okay. I'm alright."-Jack Dawson "Well, I wasn't the first teenage girl to get seduced in the backseat of a car, and certainly not the last, by several million. He had such fine hands, artists' hands, roughened by work. I remember their touch even now."-Rose Dawson Calvert"It still gets me every time...to see the sad ruin of the great ship sitting here, where she landed at 2:30 in the morning, April 15, 1912, after her long fall from the world above." -Brock Lovett "You actually believe this is you, grandma?" -Lizzy "It is me, dear, wasn't I a dish?!"-Rose Dawson Calvert "If your grandma is who she says she is, she was wearing the diamond the day TITANIC sank. Here are some other things that I have written...

Storm of the Soul

I sit and stare out my window
I feel a void forming in my heart
It rises to my throat
And shuts out all else
Inside me....
It's like a tree right before a storm
Leaves slightly swaying
Branches weak and weary
While the roots stay strong
Then, out of no where,
The rain-like tears
Pound down over the earth
Washing away the pain
Leaving traces of memories behind
I shiver, feeling the wind on my neck
Like your long gone kisses brushing me
Turning into ice cubes with the sleet and hail
The storm moves on
Gradually gaining speed and intensity
I close my eyes to stare at your face
My body collapses
Under the impending pressure
I hug my knees
And rock back and forth
Waiting for these winds to cease

untitled

calm breaths of wind
pull the sweet smell of the ocean closer
sitting alone
under the starry moonlit sky
the sand presses against me
thoughts of warmer, happier memories
envelope me in a soft wiskful daze
I can feel your body by mine
arms: safe, wrapped around
my shivering soul
chin on my shoulder
ah, those wonderful days
bring tears to my eyes
and a smile to my lips
the sound of soft footsteps
awakes me
the sun is slowly allowing night to reside
casting shallow shadows over the beach
a single silhouette catches my eye
twin pools of gorgeous radiance
meet my gaze
my heart stops
then races to catch up with my mind
my breathe fails me
oh, could it be?
My Romeo coming to save me?
I close my eyes again
the tide moves in
the wind grows stronger
and suddenly,
those safe, warm arms
those gentle lips
those storm filled eyes--
gateways to a wondrous soul
oh, my dear Romeo
take me away
from these cold, dark nights
run with me through the surf
allow the sacred bond of true love
to be absolutely true
let love find us
as we seek the truth
together
on this starlit beach
alone.
