Book Review!!
I read a lot. So, as I read, I'll review the books, and let you know how they are, and what they're about. Come back and see what's been reviewed. It may help those of us chronically busy people save a bit of time! TTFN!!!
The Great Gatsby
Is written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and is a marvellous novel. Fitzgerald spent a lot of time revising it, so that the words, mood, and essence of the novel is perfect, and he succeeded. It is about a man named Gatsby. He is enormously wealthy,
and lives next door to the narrator of the story, Nick Carraway. Nick's second cousin, Daisy, wife of Tom Buchanon, lives right accross the bay from Nick and Gatsby. As the plot thickens, it is found that Gatsby planned this entire situation.
When he was a young man, he and Daisy were in love, but he had no future, and had to leave. When Gatsby returned, Daisy was already gone, and had married rich Tom Buchanon.
So, in order to regain Daisy, Gastby becomes enormously wealthy. He throws huge parties, in hopes that one night, Daisy might happen to come, but she never does. Finally, Gastby asks the narrator, Nick, to ask Daisy to his house for tea, so that Gatsby can "come by". Daisy and Gatsby then find that they are still in love, and chaos pursues.
This is a very excellent book, and worth re-reading.

Bastard Out Of Carolina
Is written by Dorothy Allison. It is one of the best books I've ever read.
The vocabulary is simple, yet the description and scene setting is spectacular. The story is shockingly realistic, and will keep you turnin the pages. The book is about a girl called Bone. She was born a bastard, and has a strong mother, who is desperate for a man, and to be loved. When the mother finally marries Bone's stepfather, Daddy Glen, Bone's mother is so desperate for the love of a man, she is convinced that although Glen beats Bone, he still loves her and her daughter.
The conflicts are very defined, and the world shown to you is very real.
I highly recommend this book.
