Qadirah's Story

As salaam alaikum, thank you for allowing me to share my conversion story with you.

I reverted to Islam March 25, 1994. It started back in September, 1993 when I got my first computer and AOL. I signed on with a provocative screen name, wishing to fit in with the others that I had heard of and began to frequent chat rooms. I met a brother online who was in a chat room that was speaking on Malcolm X. He spoke to me and asked me if I was muslim. I said no and he asked why. I stated that all muslims were like the NOI and I didn't believe in their teachings. He then told me that there was more to Islam than that and that if I had such knowledge of Malcolm X, I would know that there are muslims of many races. I said that I had heard that but didn't really believe it and he said he could prove it to me. He began to send me so much literature on Islam that my mailbox began to be overflowing with it. He also introduced me to some other muslims online, who introduced me to sisters to answer my questions until one day, I said to him that I wanted to become muslim and how could I do it. Well, the rest is history. On my birthday, I spoke the words "I believe there is not God but Allah(swt) and I believe that Muhammad is His messenger." I later received a Quran in the mail from this brother. Inshal'allah I am happy to have met him online and that his guidance, from Allah(swt) lead me to the right path.
