(Cat Tip) - Over Weight Kitty?- 2/25/2000

Is your kitty overweight, but still active? A Laser Pointer is your cure. You can get one On-Line or at Staples or Office Max nearest you. They will love to chase this over and over again... It drives them bonkers!

(Cat Tip) - Pills - 2/25/2000

Having a hard time with your cat to take pills??? Well try this. When its time to give your cat a pill... Have it coated with either butter. The butter makes it very slippery and should slide right down. "What about if he/she will not swallow?" Just gently clamp thier mouth with your hand and tilt thier head up and rub there throut alittle... It should make them swallow.

(Cat Tip) - HairBalls - 3/22/99

Does your cat have hairballs??? And you would like to get something cheaper than the commercial hairball remedy? I read in "PetLife" Magazine that you can allow your cat to lick a small amount (1/4 teaspoon or so) of Vaseline daily or several time a week to prevent and/or treat hairballs. Another thing that is odd about it is that they actually like the taste. If your cat refuses to take it then you can either dab alittle on their paw or even put some mixed in with their wet food.

(Cat Tip) - Home Made Cat Beds - 3/22/99

Do you have a cat(s) that loves to lounge around? Well we have our own way to make your cats happy. We came up with the idea when we were replacing the old Egg Crate off from our bed. We decided that we could take it and cut it into sizes just small enough to fix inside of a pillow case (Put two if your cat really loves its comfiness.) and then sew the end up so that the cat(s) can not get inside it. Place it in either a sunny spot or near a heat source. Your cats will love you for it...:) P.S. Our 3 Cats no longer sleep with us, seeing that they have their own beds now.

(Cat Tip) - Home Made Kitty Can't Cope Sacks - 3/22/99

We love to see our cats go crazy over cat nip. We have heard that cats under the age of 1-2years do not react to it, and the reason that they go so crazy about it because it smells to them like another cat in heat (Don't know why female cats react to it but they do...)
But anyways... You will need (Atleast) 6"x6" square inches of Heavy Duty Felt(or if you have access to canvas), a sewing needle and some thread and ofcoarse some cat nip. Cut the felt into about 3"x3" sections and sew three sides together stitched very well and tight. Then flip the sewn side through the opposite side so that the stitches now are inside of the sack... Poor in as much as you would like of the cat nip, (BEWARE! DO NOT LEAVE THE COVER OFF THE CAT NIP! BY THE TIME YOU TURN AROUND IT WILL BE GONE!...:) and then sew the last side up tightly... then cut off the excess string... They will end up ripping it to shreads after a month or so... but it is sure cheaper then going to the store to get one, so making a new one will refresh the catnip and make it fun allover again to tear it apart....:) Its their way of telling you, I LOVE IT!
