"The One and Only" by Plankeye

Review

Plankeye has done it again with "The One and Only." They have made yet another great progressive pop album. This band has done an exceptional job of making it even though they haven't been payed much attention to. Their sound keeps getting better and better each album. This one is no exception.

Catchy guitar riffs and smoothe vocals that get your attention describe the musical sound of "The One and Only." Unlike Plankeye's last album, "The One and Only" offers catchier melodies, heavier vocals, more danceable beats, and more powerful guitars. The song "Playground" is a fine example of how Plankeye has progressed since their last album. This song, "Someday," "It's Been So Very Long," and "Let's Try Again Tomorrow" are all standout songs that will get you moving. All the songs on this album are great both lyrically and musically. Lyrically, the songs are artistic, poetic, and about living our lives unto Christ and evangelising. In the song "Compromise," the band speaks of how we don't always get our way in life's situations: "There's something in the way I sit and stare that makes me feel like a bird from the sky/So I close my eyes and ask God why./In my selfishness I realize sometimes things don't go my way./So I've learned just how to compromise." Overall, "The One and Only" is another great album from Plankeye who has continued to progress even more.
