Newsboys plan first ever traveling music festival

Newsboys has created a touring festival slated to hit the road this spring and fall called Festival con Dios (Festival of God). The festival will visit over 30 cities with Audio Adrenaline and The Supertones co-headlining. Speakers will join the festival as well as a rotating group of up to ten other acts, including Switchfoot, Skillet, Earthsuit, Pax 217, Superchick, The Benjamin Gate, Tree 63 and more.

PFR reappears with new album to hit stores in July

The rumors are true. PFR is officially back together again and the threesome is planning to release a new album titled "Disappear." Mark, Patrick and Joel are at it again, with a new batch of songs and tour dates, including appearances at several summer festivals. Switchfoot's Jon Foreman wins Les Paul Horizon Award

Switcfoot guitarist, Jon Foreman, was recently awarded the "Les Paul Horizon Award" at the annual Orville H. Gibson Guitar Awards in Los Angeles. Other nominees up for the award included Tim Womack of Sons of the Desert, Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon, and Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek. The annual awards ceremony honors talented guitarists in rock, country, blues and jazz. Among other award winners attending the ceremony were Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters (Best Rock Guitarist, Male), Matt Odmark from Jars of Clay (Best Acoustic Guitarist, Male), Emmylou Harris (Best Acoustic Guitarist, Female), and more. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Foundation, which uses music therapy to help severely handicapped children at a New York University-based clinic. Switchfoot also received a Grammy nomination this year for "Rock Gospel Album of the Year" for their album, "Learning to Breathe."

Poor Old Lu is back

Poor Old Lu has reunited with its original line-up and signed a deal with Tooth and Nail Records. The band will record their new album this summer and make its return to the Cornerstone festival.

P.O.D. works on new album, plays to sold-out crowds in Canada

P.O.D. has been working on new material for its next album on Atlantic Records. "The new P.O.D. music is going to blow your minds," INFOMAN said. "It is the heaviest, most inspiring material yet. Randy Staub, who did the Metallica Black album is engineering and mixing." Between rehearsals P.O.D. has managed to perform in Canada for the first time, where it played to sold-out crowds of 5,000 in Regina, Saskatchewan, and 10,000 at the Winipeg Arena. INFOMAN said, "Warriors world wide, pray for the boys as they follow up their platinum debut."

Extreme Days to release nationally in September

Originally slated for an April release, Extreme Days, the highly anticipated "cutting edge, extreme sports" feature film from Providence Entertainment, is set to release nationally on Sept. 28, 2001. The film is produced by Truth Soul Armor in conjunction with Howard Kazanjian, who has produced Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark and other blockbusters. Extreme Days is directed by Eric Hannah. The movie soundtrack is available now on Forefront Records, featuring music by P.O.D., Audio Adrenaline, Pax 217 and more. The Juliana Theory wins "People's Choice Award"

The Juliana Theory took home the "People's Choice Award" in the Plug Awards for independent music. The band also picked up slots on the Warped Tour in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Fresno, San Diego, Anaheim, Ventura, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Boise and Seattle.

Denison Marrs works on new album

Denison Marrs is working on their second full-length album titled "World Renown for Romance." The full-length project was set to release in April, along with the band's split EP with Stavesacre. For more information, go to www.denisonmarrs.com.

The Huntingtons change lineup

The Huntingtons' Danny Huntington has been replaced by original drummer Mikee Huntington, who will play all local concerts, summer festivals and albums. Mikee is unable to go on the road because of his responsibilities to his three children, so J.R. Huntington will be The Hutingtons' tour drummer. The band is recording its next Tooth and Nail album, "Songs In the Key of You," to be released in the fall.
