Welcome
PC Lovers !!
In case you haven't noticed, all the major players in the computer industry have gone on a new tangent. They all want to sell you a computer that will never be out-dated, by offering some type of program to "upgrade" what you currently have as the new technology becomes available. Without pointing any fingers, I would like to say , "BEWARE!" Read the fine print or you may find yourself having one computer for the price of two!!
Have you looked at your memory lately? I noticed that I was getting a little bit close to filling my first half of my hard drive memory, so I went into different areas, like e-mail, and other folders I had created to keep stuff in, and cleaned house! After deleting old mail, and streamlining my folders a bit, I discovered that I had plenty of room left!
If you haven't nosed about in your computer lately, you might be surprised to see how much clutter has accumulated that can be sent to the recycle bin. And, while we're at it, empty the bin too!

Our last
meeting
I'd love to tell you all about the last meeting, but I wasn't there! I understand that Doug gave a tutorial on Windows 95 and had a good turnout for the first meeting in his ABP Computer Services storefront.
Got a picture you really like?
Bring a favorite picture to the next meeting! Doug is going to have the rest of the tutorial on Win 95, and then there is going to be a demonstration of the latest in scanner technology. If you bring a picture with you, you may be the lucky member to have it made into a coffee mug! The second hour will be devoted to photo enhancement and scanner technology. Wednesday Oct 7th is the date,ABP Computer Services is the place. If you want to see some great things done with a photograph, don't miss this meeting!!

HELP!!!
If you have been a member of the Greater Oneida PC User's Group from the start, and are getting a reduced rate on Dreamscape because of that membership, you have to keep your end of the bargain! You must attend meetings regularly to remain a member in good standing, and since there are no dues, or fees, and there is so much information that is freely given at every meeting, it's foolish to miss them!
During the next month, members who haven't made enough meetings to keep their membership active will be notified that they are in danger of losing their status in the group.
As long as we're talking about membership, how about going one step further ! If you have a friend with a PC, and they want to learn more about the world of computers and the internet, why not bring them as your guest to the Oct 7th meeting!
The more members the group maintains, the more things it can get for it's members! Discounts on products and services are usually offered to larger groups, so bring a guest with you to the meeting, and have someone to share the wonders of the Age of Computers with!
