Welcome PC Lovers !!

If you are reading this month's Newsletter, it means you have gotten the word about my newest attempt at
becoming part of the "Computer Age". I am referring to "CyberNotes", the website I have established on Angelfire.com !  It was kicking my butt there for a bit, because I had to learn how to use "HTMLs" and the syntax that is required, but I caught on faster that I thought, and the site has become a lot of fun to build. It's a "freebie", and I really recommend that you all try making your own sites, if you have any time and a brave heart!!
Everyone and his (or her) brother has gotten into the Halloween spirit it seems, and I got all kinds of little sites and cards from the members and friends! I looked at everything that was sent to me ( as I always do) and was amused with the Pumpkin-Making Site the most. I may include it in the third column(if space allows) Thanks Betty!!!
I've  heard some rumors that the
cable-based "Roadrunner" server is
going to be giving some special deals
to new subscribers in the near future,
but it seems to be speculation at this time. Maybe we'll hear more about it at the meeting next Wednesday!

I've decided to go with a "three column" Newsletter, so I can be more "long-winded"!!  LOL!!!!

Our last meeting
Our last meeting featured a demonstration on the use of scanners and their related software by Clark from Averon
Systems of Verona NY. It was a very interesting meeting, even though Clark had a few "technical" difficulties with his printer and computer. I,for one was really interested with the way he used his Corel software package to "improve" the photos that he scanned, and I hope to be able to see more of this sort of photo enhancement in the near future!

Thanks Clark!!!!!!
Doug, our"fearless leader" has "Roadrunner" up and running at his Computer services store(ABP Computer Services) and I stopped by the other day to see it, Man is that server

  FAST!!
With a little luck, Doug plans to have a "rep" from Time-Warner
(the parent company) at the meeting this Wednesday, and he can fill us in on just what it can do! If not, Doug will be giving a "demo" himself. Make this meeting and you may hear some really good news, right from
"The Horse's Mouth" as they say.

"The Greater Oneida P C User's Group" will be having it's regular monthly meeting at ABP Computer Services on November 4th at 6PM.
Be there or be square!!!!!!!!!!

What's new !

I was sent an e-mail this month concerning "Free Internet Access" by a company called Netzero. I was so
intrigued by the concept that I made it the "Site of the Week" on my website. There is one drawback to this company's offer, in that they don't offer a local access phone number at this time. (Utica and Syracuse are the closest) But, if you have "315 regional calling" as part of your phone service you could take advantage of their offer.

In case you have "trouble" with my website (But ya shouldn't!!)

One of the links on my website is from a website called XOOM.com
If you visit that site and sign their guestbook, they will start sending you a regular e-mailing concerning offers they have for software packages and computer-related hardware. They will remove you from their mailing list if you ask them to, but the offers are quite tantalizing at times.

This will take you to their website if you want to see what they have to offer

Send me some interesting sites people!!!  I love to surf!!!!!
