Thom wishes to inform the group, that a good place to get info regarding file association is at the following website:

KUDOS TO BETTY!!
I for one intend to try both of these sites and see what the buzz is about!
How about the rest of you? Got something to share? Let's hear it!

Our last meeting
The "April Fools Day" Meeting was a large turnout, and the members were treated to a talk and demonstration of the "Mid-York Library System's
Electronic Doorway", by Diane Berry. There were handouts and a brief demonstration of how to access the System, by Ms Berry.
Those who missed it may obtain the handouts at the Oneida Library, free.
Two of our members, Tom J and Bob S are going to the show at Carousal Center on Saturday. I have been informed that the show is sold out, so, if you were planning to attend to see a preview of Windows 98, you had to have a reservation by now! Tom and Bob have promised to give us the "low-down" at the May 6 th Meeting..
The May meeting will feature Jean MacAlpine, who will speak on "Introduction to the internet ".

What's New

For those of you who have subscribed to "Dreamscape", you
have seen by now that they have "upgraded" the look of their Homepage.Very pretty, Northland , but the purple background clashes with my nailcolor!
If you have a few friends you like to "converse" with, electronically, there are a number of "Instant Message" services available now. AOL has a service called "Instant Messenger, that can easily be "downloaded" from their "homepage"(
www.aol.com). I am
a "dreamscape" member, but I have aol's instant messenger and it hasn't cost me a penny
(so far) for the service. These services are like a combination of e-mail and a private chatroom, all in one. You can even tell if one of your friends is on the "net" so you can contact them.
As I get more input on these services, I'll relay them!

  HELP!!!
If you were at the April Meeting, you know that we are in the "planning" stages of a "picnic" this summer for the group!
We have agreed to have everyone bring their own "meats", and a pass-around salad or dessert, but there is a lot more that has to be addressed if we are going to have a good time.
At the May meeting we will be asking when and where we want to have the get-together, so I ask that each member start thinking and checking their calendars now!
There will be a sign-up sheet so everyone can pick whether they want to make a salad or a dessert. Perhaps you have a "specialty" item you like to make for a gathering like this? Just sing out people, this is supposed to be FUN!!!
See ya at the May meeting! Bring a new member!!
