Our last meeting

This will be a short column, because there WASN'T a meeting in February!
I'd love to tell you why, but I haven't heard myself yet! I'll let you know when I hear something, but, until then, I'll fill in with some more of my drivel!
This should just be a reminder, since most of the members have used this before, but it is possible to scanyour computer for viruses with the latest scans, by going to:
  TREND MICRO'S "HOUSECALL"
This site will scan your PC online, and the easy to use "window" will not onlydisplay infected files, it will help you eliminate them! The first time you log on to the service it may take a few minutes to get set up, but after that it's efficient and easy to use. The best part is that it uses the newest virus checkers available, so you never have to update the one in your PC.
Have you ever wanted to add an animated picture (gif) to one of your projects, but couldn't find just the right one?  Try this site:
  THE ANIMATION FACTORY
There are plenty of ready-made gifs. there that you can download for free, but the best part is the way you canchange the gif in size and background to suit your needs to a tee! You can even add  Text! Once you get it used to navigating the site, it's a lot of fun!
Perhaps next month I'll be e-mailing you members that there is a  meeting!
  Stay tuned for further developments!

What's new !

Has anyone else gotten an e-mail from "Brother Bill" Gates with an offer to match wits with him on the Stock Market? I deleted it once, and it came back again a couple days later! I guess, now that he has "retired"
Old Bill has a little more free time on his hands!

AOL, the Time-Warner conglomerate has been tossing out the idea of raising the cost to use their online services. If they keep that up alot of their users will jump ship and go with the cable-based "RoadRunner" ISP.
Uhhhhhhh.    wait....    that's owned by AOL Time-Warner too!
Nice....damned if you do, anddamned if you don't! Guess I'll just stick with Dreamscape a bit longer!
To those members who have sent me sites, THANKS!!! I check them all out, and add them to the Website when I think they have a good general appeal. Those who haven't........    WHY  NOT??

Welcome PC Lovers !!

Is anyone else tired of snow? We've had more than our share, as this picture shows!

That's right people, I have finally gotten a handle on the "add pic" problem in the
Newsletters! Without going into too much detail, it was actually a "no brainer" once I figured it out. It usually is like that with things "P C-ish"!!
There is always too much junk e-mail in the old "inbox", but one daily e-mail I look forward to is from a site called
          EMAZING . COM
This site, once you have asked them to,
will send you an interesting "Tip of the Day", with links(usually) to a site with more information on the subject. I have
checked out several of them so far, and every one has been informative, and often fun to investigate.  Check it out!
I recently got a disturbing e mail that was  addrerssing a possible problem with Internet E-mail becoming a "per use" charge, possibly on your phone bill. As it turns out, this was a hoax, and  e mail will remain (for now) a free system for contacting friends and relatives .
