      Welcome
  PC Lovers !!

      As a member of the
    growing number of
  people who have dicov
  ered  the fun and use-
  fulness that owning a
  home computer can
bring, I find it a bit
  difficult to keep from
  sharing my latest
  "discoveries" on my
  new "toy" with friends
  who sometimes are a
  little less than happy
  to listen to me ramble
  on about it.
      If this has happened
  to you too, perhaps it
  would be a good idea
  if  you joined the
  Oneida  PC User's
  Club. We  meet on the
  1st  Wednesday each
  month  at the Oneida
  Library at 6PM.There
  is no membership
  fee(at this time)  and
  there are  benefits to
  being a regular mem-
  ber.

  Our last
  meeting
  Our last meeting was on
March 4th, and
it featured a
chat with the
new police chief,
Cliff Hopkins. He
spoke of his role in bringing
computer technology to oneida, and what
he sees for the
future of the
computer as a
tool of law-enforcement.
  I think a lot of
our members were suprised to learn that chief hopkins is
an instructor in
many aspects of
computer technology and theory at the utica
school of commerce. Thanks
"chief" we all enjoyed your talk!
Our next meeting is on April
fools day!

  What's
  new !

Juno, the E-mail
company, has now
finished "upgrade"
to their format,
and you can now
be bombarded with advertising while
you send mail to your friends and
relatives. It is also
possible to get to a
few selected(by them) websites while trying to get a reply from the ones you are trying to reach.
  There is a preview
of Microsoft's new
Windows 98 program, Sat. April 4th
at 1PM at the Carousal Center in
Syracuse. All members of the Club should have gotten
an E-mail notice with
the pertinant data
on registering for
the event. Prizes are being given away to the first 400 people there !

HELP!!!
    This newsletter
is fun, but a lot of
work! The hardest
part is coming up
with new topics to
bring to our mem
bers attention. If
you have anything
to share with the
group, please feel
free to let us know.
Ideas can be
dropped off at
Computech on
Main St in Oneida, across from Herb Philipson's.                      Make sure you
say it's for the
Newsletter!!
  Thanks, see you soon!
