Divergence

The Man for the Job The ancient door swung open with a loud creak and Jack brought his gaze up to meet his captor. Flanked by two burly guards, Helena entered the room, a bemused smile etched into her normally pinched expression. "Hello, Mr. Bauer," she cooed. "I hope your stay hasn't been too uncomfortable." The dilapidated holding cell had been his home for a few days now. Jack glared at Helena in response. "Where's Sabrina?" he demanded, unconcerned with appearing emotionally detatched from the now botched mission. He was far from it. The last he heard from his people, Stefan had made rapid improvement with the newly created antidote, but he and Sabrina were not expected to return for at least another few days. It would be a long while before anyone suspected things had turned sour. Sabrina had entrusted her life to Jack and now, he didn't even know if she was still alive.

"Sabrina is well," Helena informed him calmly. Her eyes narrowed as they cooled considerably. "Apparently, so is my weakling son, Stefan. Your meddling was most unappreciated and will be dealt with in time."

Jack was unmoved by Helena's threat. His growing fear lay in Sabrina's fate. "Where is Sabrina?" he asked once more, his voice dangerously low. Helena shook her head, "don't you fret about dear Sabrina. I will deal with her accordingly," she promised before departing. Jack grimaced at the thought of anything happening to Sabrina. He needed to come up with a new plan and he needed it now.
