GROSSDEUTSCHLAND VEHICLE MODS
for
COMBAT MISSION: BEYOND OVERLORD
Grossdeutschland Tiger by bfamily33
This mod was inspired by the following website:
http://www2.cc22.ne.jp/~harada/tiger.html
Check it out.
This mod is built from the Tiger's Gray Tiger skin. I could not have created this were it
not for Tiger's outstanding mod. With a few exceptions these are larger hi-res
files.

Mike8G has sent along this fix for bfamily33's Tiger; it rusts up the mod and addresses an issue with the cross on the turret rear. | Download here: GD TIGERfix.zip |
Panzer Grey Version of Marco's Truck by Michael Dorosh
The version offered for download here is a modification in Panzer Grey intended to represent an early war colour scheme; while "Dark Yellow" or "Ordnance Tan" was officially adopted in 1943, the early Panzer Grey did soldier on until the end of the war in many vehicles; especially softskin vehicles such as the truck shown here nor normally employed directly in the fighting. The swastika flag was an important means of identifying German vehicles to friendly aircraft - by 1944, this was not an issue for the Germans as the Allies had achieved aerial superiority. The flags were thus seen much less often.
This truck is offered here for use in Combat Mission (1), both with and without the GD helmet, for inclusion in western front scenarios.
This version is very clean and with little detail; making a dusty vehicle means changing the tire tread bitmaps and consequently the wheels on many other vehicles. Some issues with this mod, in addition to Marco's notes below:
The WH license plate is in the wrong location on the rear fender.
The canvas shields over the rear truck sides are not strictly historical.

The above mod is based on a truck mod by Marco Bergman; Marco's truck (shown at right) is available for download at CMHQ's German Support Vehicles Mod Section German Truck to Saurer 6x4 by Marco Bergman 03/9/2000 (marco_bergman@hotmail.com) Marco's designer notes are as follows: This mod is an attempt to hide the
fact that the German truck is a repainted GMC. I think this is a major let down,
considering the quality of all the other models. (An Opel Blitz would have been nice;
could have easily been converted to a Maultier too.) Obviously, without being able
to change the actual model, only cosmetic changes are possible. Therefore the front
mudguards are the wrong shape, the bonnet slopes down and shouldn't, the door shapes are
wrong...On the plus side, It now has the high-sided standard German truck body, new
grille, side storage boxes, tools on the bonnet, dashboard, and reshaped window openings.
Not perfect, but I feel it is an improvement. Winter: No |
