Physics Grading Policy

Frankfort High School 2002-03

 

 

60% of your grade will be obtained from tests, quizzes, and major projects.

 

      A test is worth 100 points, and a quiz is 50 points.  All work and proper units must be shown for full credit on all work completed.  Calculators must be cleared of memory.  I do have ten calculators to use if you need them.

 

40% of your grade comes from labs, activities, and homework assignments.

 

       Formal lab write-ups and writing tasks are worth 100 points.  Proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar are expected for full credit.  There will be about six formal lab write-ups per term.  These can be group or individual.  Informal lab reports can vary from 20 to 50 points each.  The writing tasks are done in cooperative groups.  There will be one per term.  On occasion there will be objective tests.  This is my way of checking your notebooks.  The notebooks should be with you each day!

       Homework assignments are graded for effort.  Therefore, if you do your very best and complete each problem in the homework assignment, you will receive full credit. Occasionally, warm-ups will be counted.  These are unannounced.
