The dictionary definition of the word “ occult”
is secret, hidden; beyond the bounds of natural knowledge. Occult practices
include astrology (star signs), channelling, clairvoyance, divination, esp, fortune telling, healing with crystals, hypnotism,
magic, ouija boards, palm readings, psychic,
spiritualism and mediums, tarot cards, telepathy, universal life force,
witchcraft and yoga. There are others! These may offer some kind of
supernatural power but their source is not from God but from the devil, satan.
Experimenting
with the occult is totally incompatible with the Christian Faith.
Biblical teaching is clear:-
Regard not them that have familiar spirits,
neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: … Leviticus 19: 31
There
shall not be found among you any one that… useth divination,
or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a
charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: … Deuteronomy
18: 10 - 12
God warns of the consequences:-
And the soul that turneth
after such as have familiar spirits, and after
wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul,
and will cut him off from among his people. Leviticus 20: 6

Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up,
and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Isaiah 47: 13
And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have
no more soothsayers: Micah 5: 12
You cannot afford to ignore your Creator’

warnings. He wants to bless you
in all things. God’ s solution is through
His Son Jesus Christ.
Consider the following scriptures:-
If you want wisdom:
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask
of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1: 5
If you want healing:
Jesus Christ the same yesterday,
and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13: 8
If you want to go to heaven:
Jesus saith unto
him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but
by me. John 14: 6
Therefore, if you are or aren’t involved in the
occult give your life to Jesus now. Satan must give way to Jesus so call upon
Him to save you. We offer the following prayer as a first step.
Dear God… I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness;
I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins; I
am willing right now to turn from my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal
Saviour and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit
into my life, to fill me and take control, and to help me become the kind of
person you want me to be. Thank-you Father for loving me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
To continue as a true believer you must
follow the Lord Jesus Christ. This involves regularly: 1. Reading the Bible; 2. Praying to God in Jesus’
name; 3. Fellowshipping with other born-again believers.
