11/10/09- A full report today. I'll start with a purchase from Steiner Sports. They had a promotion running where if you spent over $30 you could get a free signed baseball of your choice. So I bought the 8x10 of Nate Robinson's winning dunk in the slam dunk competition for $39.99 and look at the list of available baseballs and picked the Curt Schilling signed ball. Not a bad deal at all. Now for the mail. Ex-Redskins FB and Titans TE and the player that threw the lateral in the Music City Miracle play, Frank Wycheck. He signed 2 cards in 7 c/o WGFX 104.5 The Zone in Nashville where he is a sports talk radio host. Next, ex-Irish and current Saints K John Carney signed 1 card in 10 c/o Saints. Another Irish success, ex-Irish standout qb Rick Mirer signed 1 card in 13 days from the addy in Harvey 09. Now we jump to the NHL, Islanders D Mark Streit signed 1 card in 32 days c/o Islanders, also Florida Panthers G Scott Clemmensen signed 1 card in 22 days c/o Panthers. 11/03/09- Three to report today. One of them I would like to hear feedback on it's authenticity!!! The one I am talking about is the Emmitt Smith signed postcard. It looks like a dried out sharpie was being used. The sig seems to match up pretty well to certified examples I have seen, but I am not sure. Would like to hear from you guys. 11/01/09- A full report today. Yesterday I went to the CSA Show in Chantilly VA. At the show I saw a green Irish Joe Montana signed jersey. Even though the picture doesn't do it justice, it is the bright Irish green when I took the picture is came out dark, I will try to get a picture of it that looks good. The 2 autograph guest I got at the show were: 70's wrestling Legend "Superstar" Billy Graham and ex-Cowboys and Redskins TE Jean Fugett. Next, I did a mail order for a Mike Schmidt signing thru Show-Me-State Signatures for this 8x10 and finally last week I had 2 TTM successes. Next, a member of the Islanders Cup teams of the 80's, RW Bob "Knuckles" Nystrom signed 1 card in 533 days from the addy in Harvey 08. Finally, I purchased 3 8x10's from Steiner. They are of ex-Broncos TE and future HOFer Shannon Sharpe,the other is of ex-Falcons WR Andre "Bad Moon" Rison. Finally, the last is of ex-Bears DT and HOFer Dan Hampton. That's all for now. 09/26/09- Went to the Capitals Convention today had a great time. Not bad for the first one ever for the Caps. Alot of people, and alot of lines, pretty well organized though. I got a lucky break, my friend Dan sent me a link to a great shot of Simeon Varlamov "The Save" IP at Caps Convention 's save on Crosby in the playoffs last year. I had wanted to print out a bunch of photos to take, espically of the alumni but I never got around to it. The only one I printed out was "The Save". Just so happens Varly was one of my autographs the other Brian Pothier. Varly Signed the 8x10 for me, I didn't have anything for Brian to sign so he signed my Convention ticket. Brian and Varly both signed my son's ticket. Also, they had a ton of Alumni there, they signed in shifts. I got in line to get Dennis Maruk, by the time the line moved enough for me to get to the table Maruk was gone. I did get Gord Lane, Michael Pivonks, Peter Bondra and John Druce on a Alumni poster. Overall my son and I had a great time. Could have gotten a few more alumni but my son and I were getting hungry and he was tired of standing in lines. I did get one ttm success today. ex-Jets and Jaguars LB/DE Jeff Lageman signed 1 card in 1 month and a week from the addy in Harvey 09. The countdown to Chantilly is almost here. That's all for now. 08/21/09- One surprising success today. Ex-Bruins great and NHL HOFer Phil Esposito signed 1 card in 899 days c/o Tampa Bay Lightning. I had sent a card out to Phil in 03 and it took 17 days. I guess I had forgotten I had sent to him because I sent the same card in 07!!! 07/29/09- Alot to report today. First my buddy Dale sent me a great gift pack. His wife to be Shasta and Him went to the Fans Edge show last week. He said he came home with over 60 autogrraphed items. They give away autograph tickets each day and Shasta won all 3 days!!! she won an autograph ticket on Friday for Pete Rose, then Saturday one for Dick Butkus and finally Sunday she won a tix for Gale Sayers!!! I think it's time they bought a lottery ticket!!! Anyway, Dale was kind enough to send me 10 signed cards, 3 autographed 8x10's and a beautiful picture of Shasta's and his baby daughter Isabella. THANKS DALE!!! Now, I am a Caps fan but I was a big fan of Mike Richter during his career. Steiner had a Richter signed mini-mask for $69, so I couldn't resist. 05/09/09- After a short dry spell two successes to report today. Giants 08 Cy Young award winner, Tim Lincecum didn't sign my card but he sent a signed team issued card. I had sent this c/o Giants ST. It took 3 months and 2 days. Next, HOF hockey referee Andy van Hellemond signed my card, he also included a signed HOF postcard and a unsigned HOF postcard.
