Historic London Town

Historic London Town, south of Annapolis, Maryland, represents the late 1600s-1700s. There are several gardens. The plants in the 2005 African American Garden are Cowpeas, Collards, Corn, Eggplant, Garden Huckleberry, Gourds, Ground Nut [Goober Peas], Okra, Pumpkins & Winter Squash, Red Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Sweet Potatoes, Watermelon, and West India Burr Gherkin. Other gardens include an eight-acre woodland garden and a garden of native and imported medicinal plants. London Town also is a working archeological site, and features buildings being reconstructed using period methods.
