MASONIC ORGANIZATIONS

There are a number of groups within the family of Freemasonry. When a man first joins and becomes a member of the local working Lodge ( called the Blue Lodge). He soon discovers that a whole new Masonic world has opened to him. He can join these other groups once he has been accepted as a Master Mason in good standing in the local Lodge. The Shriners are one of the most visible groups in the Masonic family, because of the wonderful work they provide through the Shrineers Hospitals for children and other charity work they perform in the community. The Scottish Rite and York Rite are also quite well known. There is also the Prince Hall Masonry option for men. For ladies, we have a number of groups that are open to both men and women, such as theEastern Star and the Amaranth. There are groups to teach young men (Demolay) and young women(Jobs Daughters and Rainbow Girls)about the importance of honesty, integrity, leadership and strength of character.

There are many good references on the internet that describe what these groups do and how they are organized. After you have read each of the following linked items, retype " Sharonlodge.org" in the address line at the top of your screen, to return to this page.
