Shady Lane Poetry

You are probably entering this site out of sheer boredom and curiosity.. I can hear your thoughts right now, "Hmm, a web page by Melissa, this ought to be fun to laugh at!" Well, if you find no laughter here, do not blame me.. Inside this web page I am posting some poetry I have written over the years. Any comments or critisizm on them, KEEP TO YOURSELF... Just kidding... I'd be glad to hear from you in an E-mail :-) Where Were You 11/11/04 You could kill me with one simple answer Your words are eating at me like cancer Slowly taking all the life I have left inside More soon than late I'll have nothing to hide I've heard them ask what I'm holding onto I like to believe that the cure is you But where are you when I need you most? A rose sits in a vase next to my chair But it is not mine, it is waiting for you there Where are you when I need you most? I'm falling backwards, I'm falling fast The ocean is empty, and this darkness is vast I thought I cought a glimpse of your face in the clouds On my way to eternity, on my way down. Where were you when I needed you most?
