1 c. butter
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. black walnut flavoring
2 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
Mix, roll into small balls. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
While still warm, roll in powdered sugar; let cool. Roll again
in powdered sugar.

Glogg means glow and derives its name from the burning of the
sugar over the drink. It is the common Swedish Christmas punch
bowl and is also well liked by many Danes and Finns. It is often
made exclusively of dry red wine, aquavit being omitted.
Ready-mixed glogg spices are sold in many Scandinavian
delicatessen stores.
1 bottle Claret, Burgundy, or other dry red wine
10 cardamom seeds
5 whole cloves
3 pieces dried orange peel
4 dried figs
1 1/2" cinnamon stick
1 c. raisins
1/2 lb. sugar cubes
1 c. blanched almonds
Pour liquor and wine into kettle. Add remaining ingredients
except sugar cubes. Cover and heat slowly to boiling point.
Remove from heat. Put sugar in sieve with long handle. Dip into
hot liquid to moisten. Light sugar with a match and allow to
burn. Continue dipping sieve into liquid until sugar has melted
into glogg. Cover kettle to put out flame. Put through sieve.
Cool. Keep in closed bottles.
Heat glogg before serving, but do not boil. Serve hot in wine
glasses with a few raisins and almonds in each glass.

Wooden Napkin Rings- You
can purchase wooden napkin rings in most craft stores. Paint red, green or
gold. Add gold foil stickers, if desired, around rings and seal with
acrylic sealer.
Cinnamon Sticks - Tie 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks together with Christmas
ribbon. Tuck in a sprig of holly beneath ribbon.
Christmas Ornaments - Buy or make your own Christmas ornaments.
Place in a circle of red, green or white tulle. Tie up with ribbon.
Miniature Wreaths - Buy small craft wreaths at a local craft store.
Decorate with ribbon, holly berries and small dried flowers. Tie a bow to
one side and add a loop for hanging in the back.
Small Poinsettia Plants - Buy small plants and tie a large, white
bow around the pot.
Crocheted Snowflake Ornaments - Crochet (or have someone do them for
you) snowflakes and stiffen with fabric stiffener. While the snowflake is
still wet from the stiffener, spring some silver sparkles over top of it.
Add a loop to the top to be able to hang on the tree. Place in a small flat
box and wrap box like a Christmas present.
Coasters - Give your guests some nice Christmas coasters. Wrap a big
red ribbon around coasters to secure and tie a big bow on top.
Christmas Recipe Book - If the two of you have some all-time
favorite Christmas foods that you love, get the recipes and type them up
into a small recipe book.
