Fall Festival 2002 - This event is sponsored by the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company and will be on October 19th, in the fields behind Graul's Market. The optimist club will be selling food at this event as a fund raiser, and there will be many things for the family to do. There will be all kinds of craft and food vendors; it truly is a day for the family to come out and enjoy the fall. Three vineyards from the area will be there for you to sample their goods and purchase them if you like.

Adopt-A-Highway - Our club has also adopted a section of York Road from Elizabeth Court down to Lower Glencoe. We pick up trash along this stretch of road 4 times a year (April, June, August, and October). This is a great way for us to help the community, with not expenditure, except some of our time.

Youth Appreciation - In November, our club will honor 4 youth from the community that have been nominated by their schools, churches, or parents. The awardees will receive a dinner at Friendly Farms with their parents, a certificate, and a $50 US Savings Bond. Details on how to signup or nominate someone for this event will be out later in the summer. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email us at the numbers or addresses listed on this web page.

Bull Roast - January 18th, 2003 at the Patapsco Arena; The Baltimore Area Optimist Clubs made about $12,000  off of this event in 2002; and the Hereford Club made over $500. This is a great day to get out of the cold winter weather, eat some great food, and win some Money, Meat or Liquor to take home with you.
