Hi, I'm Greylen (to you, anyway.... trust me, my actual name is less exciting ;-). That's me above. I am 22 years old and live in Maryland, USA, Earth, the Universe. I am a college student in American Studies at UMBC, scheduled to graduate in May 2003. I'm also a graduate of Howard Community College's James W. Rouse Scholars Program, and Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville, MD. Being between jobs right now, I'm selling a bunch of stuff on eBay and half.com to stay afloat so check out those links to my seller pages, you might find something that strikes your fancy!

I am a fan of science fiction and fantasy in all of its forms. Books, movies, television, fanfiction, anything. My favorite shows past and present are Star Trek DS9, Enterprise, TNG, and Voyager (in that order), Farscape, The X-Files, Earth2, Space: Above and Beyond, Now and Again, VR5, Alien Nation, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, The Others, Viper (original NBC showings only!), The Invisible Man, Sliders (the earlier seasons), Nowhere Man, Lexx, Early Edition, The Dead Zone, Time Trax, Quantum Leap, and seaQuest DSV (first season only!). I also, remarkably have a few non-sf favorites! I'm into Queer As Folk, Gilmore Girls, Monk, That's Life, The Magnificent Seven, and My So-Called Life. As a true 80's child, I enjoyed many shows, but especially Jem and the Holograms, and Square One TV. As to the new season, I really enjoy Firefly, John Doe, The Twilight Zone, and Birds of Prey. Favorite actors include Dale Midkiff, Philip Anglim, and Kyle Chandler. Favorite actresses include Camryn Manheim Kristen Cloke, and Virginia Hey

I love to read-- sci-fi, fantasy, mysteries, mythology, just about anything. I'm a member of many book clubs. If you see any you like there, email me about joining. My favorite author is Grace Chetwin. The name Greylen comes from one of her books. You can see a picture that Grace drew for me of Greylen, Queen of the Birchen Trees here. Here's another Greylen Grace also drew. Other favorite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien, Lilian Jackson Braun, Elizabeth Peters, Marge Piercy, Anne Rice, Diane Mott Davidson, Robert Jordan, Ray Bradbury, Diana Gabaldon, Laurell K. Hamilton, Margaret Atwood, Marion Zimmer Bradley, J.K. Rowling, Jim Butcher

I listen to all kinds of music. I like many artists you probably have heard of like Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Melissa Etheridge, the Indigo Girls, Live, Tori Amos, Joan Osborne, Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLachlan, Enya, and Loreena McKennitt. I also like music from Broadway musicals, my very favorite being Rent. I also love the Lion King and anything by Andrew Lloyd Webber. I like many independent artists you probably haven't heard of, although you might if you are also from the Baltimore/DC area: Kiva, Dandelion Wine, Big Blow and the Bushwackers, Lea, Loke E. Coyote, Kathleen Hannan, Izolda, Rachel and Jaqui, Tinsmith, the Pyrates Royale, Green Crown, Four Shillings Short, Bottomland, and Garth Ross. Check em out if you're not already a fan, and check out CDBaby while you're at it, lots of great independent CD's for sale and the money goes directly to the artist. I listen to many radio stations in our area-- my favorite is MIX 1065 (JoJo and Kenny in the morning!), I also listen to B104.3, 98 Rock, 99.1 HFS, DC101, and MIX 107.3.

I'm a practicing eclectic Pagan, a hippy, and generic all purpose tree-hugging dirt worshipper, as well as an indigo adult (what does that mean? go here to find out). I enjoy going to events put on by the Free Spirit Alliance and I love hanging out at Cerridwin's Coffeehouse For more information about Wicca and Paganism check out: WitchVox. Some of my favorite places to buy Pagan supplies and stuff are Bell, Book, and Candle, Azure Green, and the uber-cool Wacky Jac.

I love shopping, especially online shopping because you don't have to go out, you can shop in your undies (or less!). You can buy almost anything at Amazon.com. I have an extensive wish list at Amazon as well as an overflow wish list you might want to check out. Reading someone's wishlist is an interesting look into their personality, especially when it has 1000 items on it. My very favorite clothing store is Torrid, the plus-size Hot Topic. I also have a wish list at Torrid as well as a wish list at Hot Topic. Lane Bryant is another nice plus-size clothes store. I'm a super junkie for bath and body products and makeup. I have so many that it will take me the rest of my life to use them, but I still buy more on occasion from great places like The Body Bakery, Origins, Sephora, SOAK!, and MMU Cosmetiques. I enjoy shopping EBay for unique items and memorabilia you can't find anywhere else.

Other things I like to do include swimming, dancing, collecting teddy bears, hanging out with friends and yoga. I take the most awesome kundalini yoga class from Joseph, a very cool person who kicks my ass every week and gets paid for it, too! I've also taken some great hatha yoga classes, and yoga taught in the Kripalu style. I took YogaRhythmics as well and had a BLAST! I sell things on eBay for a little extra cash. I also like doing crafts but don't have much time for them. One thing I like that doesn't take too much time and isn't too hard is soapmaking, mostly the melt and pour variety. I'd like to explore other soap methods and try making some other body products as well. One of the coolest places to get soap supplies on the web is SoapGoat.

I'm a member of the coolest rogue ship in the DC metro area-- the USS Chesapeake NCC-9102 science fiction club. We can be found doing discussion panels at the annual Shore Leave and Farpoint sci-fi conventions and generally wreaking havoc in some local reputable eating establishment nearly every weekend. Other folks I like to hang out with are the UMBC Pagan Student Union (which I helped found) and the DC chapter of NAAFA (yes, in case you can't tell by my picture, I'm a proud BBW!)

Other random stuff I'm interested in and sites I find useful: The Sims, The Internet Movie Database, Maryland Renaissance Festival, The Fairie Festival (a great event I plan on making a yearly tradition!) The American Visionary Art Museum (fascinating place!), Biederlack Blankets (the softest, warmest, fuzziest blankets in the world!)
