Fishing Opportunities

In the Chesapeake Bay, we have fishing opportunities year round as follows:

January - March the fishing is at hot water discharges at the local power plants and Baltimore Harbor. It is primarily for striped bass, but also for white perch and shad.

In April there is some hot water fishing, but I will also fish in the Catch and Release area of the Susquehanna Flats, out of Anchor Marine (Northeast, MD).

In May I return to the Middle Chesapeake Bay area and operate out of Solomons, MD.

From May to October I fish six days a week (not on Sunday), and nearly everyday we find surface feeding fish. We can also fish on schools of fish out in the open water and seek them around the shallows and structure.

Species available throughout summer are: striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, speckled sea trout, red drum, spanish mackerel, flounder, atlantic croaker and a variety of lesser types.

In November I travel to the Cape Lookout area of North Carolina in search of false albacore and redfish. Then it's back to Solomons, MD by Thanksgiving to guide on the sea-run big stripers coming into Chesapeake Bay and that usually lasts until Christmas.
