The Athens Project is an effort to install direct democracy in America.

Candidates for public office will be able to find support here if they pledge to publish legislation that comes before them on the internet, allow their constituents to vote on that legislation, then vote the conscience of their constituents.

Support for these candidates will include a blog documenting the progress of direct democracy candidates across America, web pages linking people to their local government resources involved in running for office, communications from those candidates to their prospective voters, a demo of a voting system to be made available for voter preview, and the working system once it is implemented.
