Red Oak Specialty Pets, is a family owned business, located in western Maryland, that specializes in pet rabbits.
We have been breeding fine quality rabbits since 1995. We started with 1 nz doe, 1 chinchilla doe and 1 nz buck and have grown since then. Last year we reduced our commercial meat herd and added pet rabbits. As time went by we found that we really loved the various colors and breeds that were available in the pet breeds. Since then we have phased out the commercial rabbits and replaced them with some very wonderfully adorable and very entertaining pet rabbits.
The emphasis that we placed on fine quality breeding stock can be seen in our babies. With each litter we strive for not only the breed standards but personality and charm. We allow no rabbits in our barn that we consider "nasty". We have 3 children and we just can't seem to keep them out of the barn! Raising rabbits is truly a family affair in our household.
We understand the commitment it takes to be a responsible rabbit breeder. We in turn pass this same commitment on to those who purchase our bunnies. Everyone who purchases a bunny from us receives a "Bunny Care Brochure", tour of our barn and plenty of support from us. Our goal is to place our bunnies in homes where the owners have had the help they need to select a bunny that suits not only their needs but also their personality. This helps ensure that both bunny and owner will be very happy for a long time!!
