The indoor track and field season was somewhat of a disappointment for the Knights, although not without some highlights.
The season started off on a low note when two key runners, Tim Pratt and Kelsey Scheitlin, were injured and unable to compete.
Still, there were some strong contenders. Seniors Kenny Kazubinski, Eugene Gaither and Junior Donn Horensky were leaders on the boys team. On the girls side, Seniors Heather Werner, Juniors Brielle Jones and Ebonnie Weathers, and Freshmen "wonder" Nataie Scurto all gave strong performances throughout the season.
The Countywide showdown mirrored the season in general. Sadly, Kazubinski was disqualified for a false start, but Gaither came through with a third place in the 800 meter. Scurto came through with a third place in the mile for the girls.
Overall the Knights placed seventh in the County.
A highlight of the season for all runners was the opportunity to perform at the new Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex. The new facility has a rubberized track which allows runners to drop their times significantly.

Both Natalie Scurto and Brielle Jones qualified for the State Championships. Brielle placed 4th in her heat of the 55-Hurdles, and Natalie place 5th in the entire state in the mile run with a time of 5:21.
