The Knights hosted the 4A East Regional Championships on Friday at Baybrook Park. The girls team placed 5th in the region and qualified for the State Championships for the first time in school history. Kelsey Scheitlin placed 15th to lead the team. Heather Werner returned to the Knights number 2 runner. Heather Mullin, April Penn, Amanda Johnson, Christine Stagg, and Melissa Dolin also ran and helped the team qualify for States.

The boys team placed 7th and did not qualify as a team. Tim Pratt placed 17th and qualified individually with a time of 16:46. Brian Krueger ran 17:09 to place 28th, Eugene Gaither ran 17:24 to place 34th. Joe Wojchiewski was the number 4 man in placing 54th in 18:38. Ben Dolin placed 56th in 18:50, Haroon Ahmad placed 58th in 19:03, and Mike Bradford placed 61st in 19:10. The entire team ran their best race of the season but had the misfortune of being in the toughest region in the state.
