Adopted Animals

Harry

Harry was a stray who had been repeatedly seen wandering the neighborhood. When he came to me, I tried everything I could to find his owners. Many people in the neighborhood recognized him from his wanderings, but none knew who he belonged to. Hoping that his owners would be looking for him, I took him to animal control.

Harry's owners never claimed him and he was put up for adoption. After being at the shelter for two weeks, animal control contacted me because Harry was doing very poorly there. I picked him up the next day.

Many, many rescuers and rescues came forward to offer support and assistance. One woman in particular paid for all of Harry's vet care. I don't know what I would have done, if it weren't for these wonderful people.

Two weeks after coming to my home, on Saturday, March 30, 2002, Harry went to his new home. We arrived there to find his new dad holding a video camera, and his new mom and boy excited to see him.

Harry immediately settled in and became part of the family. He quickly learned his new name, Kato, and claimed the hearts of his new family. He has been doing wonderfully and his new mom says they are all very happy with him.

His new mom says that he is already a momma's boy, rarely leaving her side. He is also housetrained and well mannered in the house.

"Kato" has certainly found his second chance, and he thanks all who came forward to offer assistance.

Eddie
Thanks to the help of the Montgomery County SPCA, Eddie found a wonderful new home! Eddie had wandered into my yard in the summer of 1998. More than likely he was dumped, as every effort was made to find his owners, but none were found.

He was a sweet and lovable guy, who was hand-shy and needed to learn to trust men. Because of his timidness I did not think he should go to a new home right away.

He stayed with me for a few months until he had improved enough that I thought he was ready for adoption. After that, the MCSPCA was kind enough to step in and take him the rest of the way to a new home.

I have no ties to the Montgomery County SPCA, but I have been incredibly impressed by their love of animals and the steps they take to ensure homeless animals find new homes. If you live in their area and are looking for a shelter to donate to, I definitely recommend them.
Toby
Toby came to me in 1999 after being neglected and lonely for all of his short life. He spent about 4-6 months with us before he was adopted. He found a WONDERFUL home with a young man in VA who spoils him rotten.

Sugar and Puppies
A family in Western MD left all their animals at their home while they lived in their second house. The animals recieved little care, although someone stops by to feed them. Sugar and her puppies were taken into rescue, the rest of the animals (See Maryland Animals For Adoption) have not yet been helped.

Angel
Angel was found by a friend of mine. This poor deaf kitty had been thrown outside to fend for himself. With the help of another rescuer, Angel found a wonderful home in a houseful of white cats.

Hope & Henry
Hope and Henry were two little feral kittens in need of a home. After some socialization and vet care they found a wonderful home together.
