Linking Past to Present. This photo, found in an old photo album, sparked my curiousity and started me on the road to genealogy. The grave belongs to my grandmother, Antonia Silvestri Ascosi who died in 1912 at the age of 22. She is buried in New York State, with her newborn son in her arms, leaving two young children.Her youngest, my dad, was 2 years old at the time of Antonia's death. His sister, Mary, was 4 years old.

These are the surnames I am currently researching. All, except Silvestri, are from the town of Putignano, in the province of Bari, Italy. My grgrandfather, Francesco Silvestri was born in Italy, immigrated to Argentina where my grandmother, Antonia was born, then immigrated to the New York after the death of his wife.
