Adopt a Student Program
The Hispanic National Law Enforcement
Association & the Professional Black Peace
Officers Coalition is kicking off its “Adopt a
Student” mentoring program. We are donating
several over stuffed backpacks containing school
supplies to needy children in an effort to aid
their academic success. The backpacks will be
distributed to three elementary schools
throughout the county in District I, District
III, and District IV area schools.
We
are in need of members who would like to volunteer
to periodically check in on the student’s progress.
This can be done in as little as once a quarter. To
make this program run as smooth as possible, we are
asking that volunteers assist with a student in his
or her assigned area. Students may need funds for
upcoming field trips, academic or behavioral
counseling, or simply a caring adult in order to
have a productive school year. We can meet these
needs. Please contact Joe Perez at 240-508-1967 if
you are interested. Thank you in advance for your
time and support to our communities.
