National Media: I am pleased to announce that Avon has asked me to be a 3 Day Walk media representative! This means that I will be part of a group of 25 who will be available to the national media as spokespersons for the 3,500-4,000 walkers.
Avon chooses its Media Team from a cross section of the 3 Day participants, and I have been chosen to represent young survivors. On "Day Zero" (the day before the walk begins), we will meet for our instructions and final assignments. |
Then, over the course of the 60 mile walk, I will carry a beeper or cell phone so I can be contacted for interviews, comments, etc. Survivors Circle: As a young survivor, Avon has also chosen me to join 6 others in the Survivors Circle. We will participate as representatives of all the walkers in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 3 Day, and we will start the walk in honor of those who have been lost to breast cancer. It goes without saying that I am honored to be considered as a representative for breast cancer survivors. I am a little anxious, yet I am thrilled with the opportunity to reach so many and to prove that there is life after cancer.
05/09: I'm working on pictures, video, etc. for the web site. Check back soon! |
