The Letter

Warm rays of sunshine touched my face,
through the white curtains of linen and lace.
Brushing the sleep from my eyes to confront the day,
I knelt down on the floor and began to pray.
Concluding my prayer to my King,
I recalled a praise hymn and began to sing.
Wishing to talk to God face to face, man to Lord,
I noticed a strange letter lying on the floor.
As I knelt to hold it in my hand,
I thought, this could not be of mortal man.
With penmanship of sheer perfection that flowed like a river,
as I began to read, I filled with pleasant shivers.
The letter read. . . Dearly Beloved, child of mine,
I write to assure you, all will be fine.
Do not fret, do not worry, I am in control,
for the emptiness in your heart, I will make whole.
I will restore all the wounds of daily pain,
right now my peace is upon you as a steady rain.
When you are lonely, tired, weary and weak,
my heavenly kingdom is what you must seek.
When you feel lost and afraid wherever you stand,
I promise you my child, I'm right beside you, holding your hand.
You must walk by faith, not by sight,
for even in the darkness, I am your light.
Smile and rejoice in my glory, strength and power,
with me you will endure everyday, every hour.
Be still and know that I am God,
I will comfort you with my staff and rod.
I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end,
I'll never leave you nor forsake you, my child and friend.
Be humble, godly, holy and pure,
my presence is with you, this I assure.
My words are righteous, holy and true,
be still and always know this, I'll forever love you.
Share the good news to all, young and old,
never be ashamed, stand strong and bold.
I am your loving Father, do not doubt me,
I have released you from death, for I am the key.
I am God and by me all doth exist,
your life is with me clenched tight in my fist.
Walk the paths of righteousness, every night, every day,
always for my names' sake and I will lead the way.
I will direct you through the valley and over the mountain,
as for the water of life, I am the source, I am the fountain.
Serve me with commitment, worship and praise,
for I am your lighthouse through the smog and haze.
Always remember, I love you my son,
and when this life is o'er, it has just begun.

Your loving Father,
God

Tears of joy rolled down my face and peace filled my mind,
what a precious Father He is, so loving, merciful, awesome and kind.
How blessed I am to have this love so grand,
knowing the almighty God of the universe is right beside me,
holding my hand.

Loving the love of God,
