I Now Know

I now know what this world has to offer, and it has nothing which will deliver real joy and contentment. Many people spend a lifetime winding up with the conclusion that the world holds no lasting satisfaction. The wise author of the book of Ecclesiastes, assumed to be Solomon, described a journey in which he traveled the world and experienced everything the world had to offer. The wise king was very wealthy and had no limitations as to what he could or desired to do. After all that he obtained, after all that he set his eyes upon, after all that he involved himself with, after all he could possibly do to appease the five senses, which is of our carnal nature, the flesh, he came to this hard sought understanding. Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 1:14 "I have seen all the works that are done under the sun: and behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit". What Solomon means is this, everything this world has to offer is of no contribute to the spirit within us, it has no lasting satisfaction, no healthy benefit to the "heart", and in fact, recognizing all this was quite disturbing to him. He realized this life here under the sun was a life of vanity. For above the sun is where the glory and fulfillment of life dwells. The kingdom of Almighty God!

You can search the wide world over, you can envolve yourself in other cultures, you can obtain a mass of worldly materials, you can drown your mind with liquor and narcotics, you can be a sexual maniac, you can obtain bodily health, you can be anything you desire, but all these things are done under the sun and if you think you will one day, through all your efforts, eventually find satisfaction, peace and joy, you are dead wrong. For it is all vanity and vexation of spirit. This world is full of corruption and evil, and if you think the evils of this lost world will bring good to your life, you are blind spiritually and you need the healing hand of Jesus to help you see. I now know all this because I found the life above the sun, I have found peace, joy and satisfaction within, because I now know Jesus Christ.
