Cherish

Far too many times we take life for granted,
for there is so many gems of life, mystically enchanted.
Soft touches of a babes hand to ones cheek,
the sparkle in the child's eyes, rare and unique.
Laughter filling the air from children at play,
tends to illuminate joy into the most gloomy of days.
Even a child's panic from scrapes from a shove,
as she seeks the cure of her parents kiss of love.
Seeking comfort from imaginations fright,
the child creeps to the security of his parents' bed at night.
Awakening in the morning, snuggled by the spouse you love,
realizing how truly blessed you are from God above.
Freedom to make choices into daily decision,
not bound by concrete and steel in a lonely prison.
Fresh morning air, the song of birds and the warm sun,
the journey of a new day has just begun.
The precious touch of a lover caressing your face,
as you soak up the warmth of loves embrace.
Hand in hand strolling by a peaceful river,
the joy in heart giving a pleasant shiver.
A wonderful God that cares so very much,
with Oh so many blessings to which I clutch.
So before your laid to rest in the grave to perish,
remember to hold fast to these precious blessings I cherish.

Realizing the privilege of freedom,
