Reflections Of Myself

Title of Your Page

I was cleaning out some closets
And high upon a shelf
I found a box of papers marked
"Reflections of Myself."

I opened up the cover
All yellowed now with age
And began a backward travel
To the life upon the page.

There were words of joy and laughter
Of anger, hope and love
Of friends and times and places
And even God above.

I slowly read each story
Recollecting every line
Of a wonderful life's journey
And realized it was mine.

The years of pain and heartache
The roads that were my youth
All written down on paper
For me a kind of proof.

Some pages of great courage
And some intense with fears
There were dreams of future happiness
And some were filled with tears.

The path that I have traveled
In my time upon this earth
And lived and cried and understood
That life's not death, but birth.

Each day a new beginning
Each page a brand new start
And when the day is over
It is written on your heart.

And someday, someone just may find
Way high upon a shelf
A box of yellow pages marked
"Reflections of Myself."
