Let Me Be A Memory

Whats She Gonna Do?

Jacqueline’s Junque

Let me be a memory....
One that wakes you in the night;
That forever seems to linger,
Though it didn't work out right.
The one who had the softest touch,
And shared the deepest kiss;
If I cannot be nothing else,
At least let me be this.

Let me be a memory....
The one that stirs your heart;
With the throbbing pain of lonliness,
Whether near or far apart.
The ache that never fades away,
Or lessens over time;
The one who leaves you whispering,
"If only she were mine."

Let me be a memory....
The one time cannot erase;
So when you close your eyes to sleep,
In dreams you see my face.
Let thoughts of me wash over you,
Each time you hear love's song;
Wish you could wrap me in your arms,
For that's where I belong.

Let me be a memory....
The one that makes you glad;
That filled your life with happiness,
And I'll try not to be sad.
Knowing I exist forever,
Even though I've been set free;
I still live on within your heart...
your most cherished memory.
