The fund-raising events for the 2000/2001 school year were discussed. The group decided that, based on the short time frame between now and November, they would not be able to plan an Auction. The general agreement of the group was that if we concentrate on marking other fund-raising events successful, and have participation from all of the school's families, we could meet or even surpass the fund-raising amounts made last year.
The fund-raising activities that were discussed in the meeting include:
Stuffed Ham Sandwich Sale -This fund-raiser is already in progress. Volunteers are still needed to help stuff the hams and prepare sandwiches next week, and to sell them at the Blessing of the Fleet on 30 September and 1 October. Carole Farr is the chairperson.
$5,000 Raffle - This is the raffle that normally takes place prior to and ending on the night of the Auction. The tickets ($50 purchase price per ticket) will become available for sale next week, and it is hoped that all of the school's families will make an effort to sell at least on ticket. We would like to end this raffle in December - and have the drawing at the Christmas play. Francis Guy is the Chairperson.
- Casino Night - We are currently scheduled to participate in Casino Night on 23 February. Volunteers are still needed to help with this event - as indicated on the flyer that was sent home last week. We would like to schedule another night as well, so that we can have two of these to benefit the school.
- Lottery Ticket - This was successful last year. We would like to have the drawings take place through the month of March 2001 - with daily winners. Paula Gibson is the chairperson.
- Reverse Raffle Dance - More details on this will come at a later date. The dance is tentatively sceduled for late April. No chairperson was named as yet.
