Any medications, whether prescription or over-the-counter, must be taken directly to the office upon entering the school. The student's name, date and directions are to be clearly marked. Medications will be administered by the office staff only. No student may keep any medication, including cough drops or lotions on their person. The office will not administer any medication unless written permission has been received from the family.

It is important to inform the office immediately if there are any changes in emergency phone numbers and medical information from what was filled out on the registration form.

If you are called to pick up your child because he/she has become ill, please make every effort to arrive promptly as we have no sick room available.

For infectious illnesses such as strep throat, ringworm, and impetigo, a child must be on antibiotics for 24-48 hours before returning to school. A doctor's not is requested upon return.

If your child is "loaned" clothing because his/hers has become soiled due to illness or accident, we ask that you return the items, washed and pressed, when your child returns to school.

On occasion, the school office will check all students for head lice. Any student suspected of having head lice will be sent home and proper treatment must be followed. Before return to the classroom, the student will be checked again by the office staff.
