Chapter 9

AJ stopped the rental Suburban that the guys and girls were in. They were on Duvall Street in Key West, on their way to Jimmy Buffet's house. AJ looked around, and turned left.

"Do you know where you are going?" Terri asked him skeptically.

"Yep, we just need to find-there it is!" AJ exclaimed and turned right on 5th street. The road down the street until it dead-ended with a sign that said 'Private Property'.

"Is this it?" Kevin asked, leaning forward from the backseat to look around.

"Yep." AJ replied and drove forward. About half a mile up the road all eyes caught sight of a huge beach side mansion.

"Oh my…" Lexi and Erin muttered, breathing in a deep breath.

"That place is huge!" Brian exclaimed as they pulled up into the driveway. In the driveway there was a Dodge Ram with the license plate "Margaritaville."

"That must have been hard to get." Amber commented, pointing at the license plate.

"Come on, let's get our bags and go on in." AJ suggested, turning off the engine and climbing out of the car. After all bags were out of the car, AJ knocked on the door. No answer. AJ knocked again and Jimmy answered the door.

"Hey AJ!" the 52-year-old man exclaimed, "Come on in!"

"How have you been?" AJ asked, shaking his hand as Howie closed the door behind them all.

"Just got off tour." Jimmy replied.

"I went to your Nissan Pavilion concert." Terri added with a smile.

"Really?" Jimmy asked.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I haven't introduced you to anyone." AJ apologized. "This is Brian, his girlfriend Becca, Nick, and his girlfriend Lexi. The tall one is Kevin, and his girlfriend Amber, Howie is the short one, and that's his girlfriend Erin. And, this one here is my girlfriend, Terri." Jimmy shook all of their hands.

"Well, unfortunately I have to leave tonight, last minute stuff, you know?" Jimmy asked.

"Oh, we know." Brian replied sarcastically, but truthfully.

"Well, you're welcome to anything in the fridge, there is a Key West Map on the counter so you know how to get around. Oh, and if any of you have your boater's license you can take out any of my boats, except God's Own Drunk." He replied, causing everyone to laugh at his boat's name.

"Thank you." Everyone echoed.

One week later the guys were packing up again to go back to the recording studio.

"I wish you didn't have to go." Lexi whined as she helped Nick pack.

"I'll see you in a week for the trial." Nick replied, grabbing some underwear from his drawer and stuffing it in the suitcase. Lexi sighed and neatly folded it, setting it back in the suitcase. Nick turned to her and gave her a tight hug.

"Oh, don't worry honey. Nothing is going to happen. And if you get scared, or anything does happen-which it won't-but if anything does happen, Terri has a cell phone. We'll all have our cell phones with us, don't worry." Nick told her firmly, still holding her tight against him self.

"I'll miss you." Lexi told him softly, rubbing his back lightly.

"I'll miss you too, Lex." Nick replied, "I love you." He added before kissing her softly, holding her around the waist with one arm, and the other hand was on the back of her head.

"Love you too." She told him with a smile as they broke apart.

"Be careful, don't go out in public without sunglasses or a hat, and don't tell anyone your name." Howie told Erin and Becca as he and Brian packed.

"We'll be ok, honey." Erin replied with a sigh.

"Promise me." Howie told her as he zipped up his suitcase.

"I promise." She replied, smiling slightly.

"You too." Brian told Becca firmly.

"Promise." Becca replied, sounding depressed.

"Don't worry, we'll see you again in a week, and we'll have our cell phones if you need anything." Brian told her, pulling her off the bed into a hug.

"Come here." Howie told Erin, taking her hand and also embracing her.

"I'll miss you." Erin told Howie, then gave him a light kiss.

"Promise I'll see you in a week?" Becca asked Brian.

"Promise." Brian told her with a smile, giving her a kiss. "I'll stay up every night thinking of you." He told her, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

"Ah, don't lie Bri, you're not good at it." She teased with a smile.

"Who said I was lying, I'll miss you so much." Brian told her giving her another kiss.

"Miss you too."

"I guess you have to leave soon." Amber assumed as she lay next to Kevin on their bed they shared at Jimmy's house.

"Yeah, I guess so." Kevin replied, not wanting to leave.

"I'll miss you train." Amber told him, looking at him.

"I'll miss you too, Bert." He told her, giving her a light kiss.

"So, I'll see you next week…" She sighed as they both stood up.

"Definitely." Kevin replied, pulling her into a tight hug. "I love you." He whispered.

"Love you too." She whispered back.

"Call my cell if you all need anything." Kevin told her seriously.

"Hunky dorey." She replied with a nod.

"AJ, why can't we come with you?" Terri asked, as she packed AJ's toothbrush and toothpaste for him.

"Because that is the first place he'll look for you." AJ replied, walking over to pack his shirts in the suitcase. Terri sighed heavily, staring at the bed spread. AJ turned to her and took both of her hands in his. "Don't worry, you'll see me again before you know it." He told her, looking straight into her eyes. She forced a smile and nodded.

"This has been the longest four weeks of my life." She sighed with a light chuckle.

"It's been crazy, but it's been wonderful because of you." AJ told her and kissed her lightly.

"You've always been good with words." Terri laughed as he took her in his arms.

"Takes practice." He laughed, and then held her tighter.

"I'll miss you." She whispered.

"Miss you too, babe." He replied and then kissed her again.

"Come on Bone! We got a plane to catch!" Howie called up from the bottom of the stairs.

"Coming!" AJ yelled back down, picking up his suitcase, "Come on." AJ urged as he reached the door, noticing that Terri was in a trance.

"Huh? Oh-yeah." She mumbled, picking up his backpack and following him. As they reached the bottom of the stairs everyone was holding each other and saying goodbye. Everyone gave their intended one last kiss and they were off.

The next day during a thunderstorm the girls were talking in the living room.

"This sucks." Terri sighed.

"No kidding." Becca agreed.

"Let's play Ouji!" Lexi suggested.

"I'll play!" Erin replied with a laugh.

"I'll get it." Terri added and jumped up to get it. A moment later she returned with the board. "Put your fingertips on it." They all did, except Amber.

"Nope! It's against my religion. That represents witch craft." Amber told them.

"Oh, come on! It's a game, it's not real." Becca replied.

"Come on, it's just for laughs." Lexi urged. After a moment Amber rolled her eyes and sighed.

"Fine. God forgive me." She said loudly before setting her finger tips on the board.

"Uh, I'll ask first." Terri announced, "Spirits, are you there?" She asked, her question was followed by laughter, "hey, it's a question! Shush!" They all closed their eyes and didn't open them until the hand piece had landed on Yes.

"Who are you?" Lexi asked, then they all closed their eyes again, and didn't open them until it stopped. Erin kept track of the letters and when it landed last all the girls were in shock.

"Andy will get you." Is what it said. No one could have done it on purpose because they all had their eyes closed and they had been applying pressure from all sides.

"Oh my God." Amber muttered, "I don't want to play anymore."

"Wait! Let's ask when." Becca suggested, and then she asked that. Again, Erin kept track of the letters. Tonight, it said.

"Guys, I really don't want to play anymore!" Amber told them softly. Right after she finished her statement, a thunderclap was heard and the lights went out. It was only 5:30, so there was still light around.

"Ok, everyone come with me to the kitchen!" Terri told them and they immediately headed for the kitchen. She took waxed paper cups and put a medium length candle in each and lit them all, giving one to each of the girls. "Go and lock all the windows and doors, get your rooms, and I'll get the Master bedroom. Amber and Erin get the basement. The rest of us will take care of this floor." Terri announced. Fifteen minutes later everyone met back in the kitchen after everything had been done.

"Are we going to call the guys?" Erin asked.

"And tell them what?" Amber asked, leaning on the counter, "That a Ouji board told us we are going to get killed tonight?"

"Exactly, it's crazy. They'll think we're insane." Terri agreed.

"What are we going to do about the power?" Lexi asked.

"Nothing I guess…Just wait. I'll start a fire in the living room for light, and light the rest of these candles. We have a lot of them." Terri replied, and soon the girls were lighting all fifty-some candles. The whole first floor was illuminated with candlelight.

"What are we going to do about sleeping?" Amber asked.

"Let's all go get blankets from upstairs and sleep in the living room." Lexi suggested.

"That's a good idea." Terri agreed, then a window breaking and a loud thump was heard upstairs.

"OH MY GOD!" Amber yelled as the girls screamed.

"Shut up." Terri quieted them as footsteps were heard above.
