Catch the breeze

Finally. After about 2 years I finally get round to writing something about Slowdive. Why did it take me so long? Well, to be honest, Slowdive were never my favourite Shoegazers, dunno, to me they always seemed too..... well, boring in a way. Of course they had their moments too, the second album is brilliant.

And I can only agree with Select (see below): Rachel does look lovely.....

Oh, and Mojave 3 are great.

Bloody useless this, eh. Oh well.

What the press said:

about Outside Your Room EP, Select, June 1993: "This is killer shag music."

about Souvlaki, Select, July 1993: "... Their sidewinding guitar fondue-scapes are far more involving and rich than the bandīs rahter limp reputation might have you believe. Itīs not going to unlock the serial killer that exists within us all, but thereīs a time and a place for its gently undulating Radox symphony in ten parts whose defiant dopiness makes for an essential easy listen." 4 out of 5

about the untitled EP, Select, December 1993: "This is heroically drowsy music and Rachelīs looking particularly lovely on the cover..."

Outside Your Room EP review, MM, May 1993: "The EP is undoubtedly, indescribably lovely."

Slowdive records I own:

  • Morningrise EP (12")
  • Just For A Day (CD-album)
