Jemima

About the Character-
Jemima is one of the Jellicle Tribe’s youngest kittens. She loves to sing, and her sweet voice is easily heard in parts of ‘Memory’ and ‘Moments of Happiness.’ She is very curious, and from that comes a fondness for Grizabella. Jemima longs to touch Grizabella, and show her that she cares for her, but she is always stopped. Jemima, along with the other kittens, has a certain fondness for the Rum Tum Tugger. In particular, he likes to flirt with her! Jemima is not a main Cat, yet her kitten-like cheerfulness make her one of the crowd’s favorites. Her parents are probably Skimbleshanks and Jennyanydots. It is also likely that her sister is Victoria. Though unseen in the Video, Munkustrap is very protective and fond of Jemima. Mistoffelees, too, is fond of Jemima. In the Video, she helps him with a bit of magic. In London and in the Video, Jemima goes by the name ‘Jemima.’ However, in the Broadway Production, she is known as ‘Sillabub.’ Jemima is a red calico---it’s possible that her coat will look similar to Bombalurina’s when she gets older. She is short, with a slender build. Jemima’s age is probably the equivalent of 8 to 14 human years.

About the Actor-
The actress who plays Jemima must have a strong background in singing and dancing. Jemima’s part is soprano, and the actress must be fairly short. The actress who plays Jemima is usually the understudy for Victoria. Because of that, she must be extremely flexible, too.
