About the Character-
Mr. Mistoffelees is a very interesting cat. His magical powers have earned him respect from the Jellicles. He is a young cat, so his tricks don’t always work the way their supposed to! He and Victoria invite the Jellicles to the Jellicle Ball. It is possible that they are brother and sister. Mistoffelees is a fun-loving cat. He practises his powers by revealing Jennyanydots, the Gumby cat. He enjoys making fun of Bustopher Jones (i.e. pulling his tail, mimicking him)! Mr. Mistoffelees is one of the minor leaders of the Jellicle tribe, but is nowhere near as powerful as Deuteronomy or Munkustrap. His mystical abilities allow him to be the first cat to sense when Grizabella is near. When Old Deuteronomy is kidnapped by Macavity, the Rum Tum Tugger calls on Mr. Mistoffelees to bring him back. Using his magic, he succeeds. He also fixes the lights and makes Victoria reappear. His impressive talents scare some of the kitties, especially Etcetera! Other than Victoria being his sister or Bustopher Jones being an uncle, Mistoffelees has no relations. Mistoffelees is black “from his ears to the tip of his tail” except for a bib of white fur on his chest. He wears a white bow-tie instead of a collar! He is the shortest of all the male Jellicles and has a slight build. He is not yet an adult, but not a kitten. Mr. Mistoffelees is probably the cat equivalent of 20 human years.

About the Actor-
The actor who plays Mr. Mistoffelees is the best dancer in the Company! Because of the extreme abilities required to perform his solo dances, his singing voice doesn’t matter all that much. In fact, the role is so strenuous that most of the actors who have portrayed him on Broadway can only a stand a couple of years in the part!
