Medical

Each child must be examined by a physician before coming to camp. It is especially important that the tetanus booster be up-to-date. Oral polio vaccine and measles vaccine(unless the child had measles) are required. We must have a completed medical form and parent's authorization form for each camper by June 1st.

The camp nurse is at the camp full-time throughout the summer. We are also privaledged to have private physicians(former Habonim Dror members, parents of members, etc) who spend some time at camp and volunteer their medical services. When necessary, we use the services of a local accredited hospital. Thus, we assure proper medical attention for all campers. If your child is ill and/or requires serious medical attention, you will be contacted. Please inform us whenever you will be out-of-town during the summer so that we will always know how to reach you.

All medications must be turned in to the nurse upon entering camp. (Parents of younger children may want to give any medications to the counselor on the bus.) All medications should be carefully labeled with your child's full name, the prescription dosage, and the name of the medication. If your child must take any medication, even vitamins, this should be indicated on the medical form. Be sure to send enough medication for the duration of the session.

Medical insurance is not provided by the camp. Your medical insurance policy information should be on file with us, including: insurance company name, policy and ID number(s), and the address to which we should send claims. Where available, campers should bring an insurance ID card to camp to be kept with the nurse. Please take care of all routine examinations and appointments(dentist, opthalmologist, optometrist, etc) before camp begins.
