Keeping up to date with all the "cybertainment" is pretty easy. There are a few different ways to do it. First thing you shouold do is know your stuff. All you have to do is use your e-mail account to get as much free information as you can. Maybe you could find a newsgroup about Technology in the 90's, or an article about what lies ahead for computers in the millenium.
Don't get technology confused with software. Hardware like drives and modems are what you want to know about. Don't be fooled by the multi-media attraction. Anything that you can download is either software, or shareware, not hardware. By joining certain newsgroups you can learn what's being made, how much better it will be than everything else, when it's coming out, and how much it'll be.
You can also look up information on the web. Type Processors into a search engine and see how many companies you get besides Intel. Amiga chips are just as fast as Pentiums, but exactly who's hardware is the best? You'll have to know what you're buying to find out. search for the answers. Pentiums are designed for faster general user usage, while AMD's are just a little bit slowe when it comes to rgular stuff lik MS Office, but the AMD will give you the fastest speed, the sharpest graphics, and all around experience ever with any video game! So it all depends on if you're a major gamer or a web surfing nut.
People with P3's will be happy since they're surfing the web faster than AMD owners. They'll probably be searching for codes for the new Dreamcast 128-bit gaming console. No hardware data has been givin on the system yet, but be sure to chek the box for the system stats before purhashing the system.
And finally, one of the greatest ways to keep up with the latest computer technology is to find someone that has a web disscussing that issue. You never know what kind of real oppionions, or hidden fact you might find out. The best source is a familiar source so good luck.
