| The
majority of DVDs feature Dolby Digital soundtracks. A Dolby Digital soundtrack can be
mono, dual mono, stereo, Dolby Surround stereo, 5.1 channel, etc. Some DVD packaging
specifies if the disc contains true 5.1 channel sound. Also, DVDs can feature more than
one Dolby Digital track: a 5.1-channel track and a track specially remixed for Dolby
Surround. Dolby Digital is the carrier of sound on the majority of DVD discs. It is no
guarantee of 5.1 channel sound. Each package will identify if the DVD has 5.1
channel sound by the following logos: |
