Dear CSCUAA Board and Senior Club Members,
As the new president of CSCUAA, I would like to express my personal appreciation to Lao Yang (Dr. Yang Hengxiang)'s years of contribution, as well as to Ni Tao for his energy, devoted to CSCUAA. I have not got enough time to prepare a detailed state of the union address. But a quick note will ensure that you know I am working with you on behalf of CSCUAA.
The last board meeting approved the new Executive Committee (EC) as well as the following 1999 CSCUAA agenda proposed by the new EC:
1. A joint community celebration for Lunar New Year (Spring Festival) will be held on Feb. 20 or 21. Li ChangQing (VP) will be our POC (point of contact) for this matter. As you have seen, Changqing is also preparing a fairwell to welcome Premier Zhu Rongji.
2. CSCUAA will stay in the organizing committee for Celebration of US-China Long Term Friendship party. It is scheduled in early March. Xu Zhaoran is POC for this matter.
3. The CSCUAA annual picnic will be held on June 5. Zheng Kangmin, Zhang Nienfan and Li Xiaoling are POC for this matter.
4. On behalf of the new EC, Shou Matie (VP) will direct all financial matters and work with the new financial officer. If you want to make contributions to CSCUAA, please contact him at 301-762-4331(h).
Other agenda and details will be provided later. Let's work for a harmoneous and progressive CSCUAA.
