The Mainland Chinese communities in Greater Washington area celebrated our 54th National Day at September 21st in D.C. Chinatown. This is the very first time for Mainland Chinese communities area held an event of this magnitude in D.C. Chinatown. Jiao Tong AA in Greater Washington area was cordially invited to the dinner party in the Lei Garden restaurant at the heart of Chinatown.
The party started with both USA and Chinese national anthem and warm welcomes from officals of the Chinese Embassy and D.C. mayor's office. It was also featured with outstanding performance from the local Huang He (Yellow River) art troupe.
Due to the limitation of the seats, we only got 10 tickets for the party. It was a fantastic chance to meet with each other once a while, and to know new members. They reviewed this year's achievement and foresaw the future of our AA. We all agree we should try to hold more activities to attract more members to join. They all had a very good time together. Here are some bits and bytes from the party.
Best Regards
President of D.C. NJTU AA
